POSITION SUMMARY:
BCaBAs will provide direct ABA therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Developmental Disabilities and Supervision to RBTs in home and school settings. ABA therapy will be supported and supervised by Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Provide ABA therapy as a BCaBA
2. Maintain ongoing communication with parents regarding child’s progress and plan of care.
3. Complete weekly parent trainings as outlines by insurance under the clinical direction of the BCBA
4. Prepare and conduct Staff Performance Reviews with Clinic Manager
5. Adhere to the rules, regulations, policies, and processes outlined in the San Angelo Autism Center policy and procedures
6. Protect patient rights and privacy according to HIPAA regulations, and San Angelo Autism Center policy and procedures
7. Adhere to Ethical Guidelines set forth by the BACB
8. Provide a safe and clean environment for all patients and staff
9. Ensure the patient receives quality services from provider
10. Represent the patient to ensure services and interventions meet quality assurance standards
11. Maintain accurate records including but not limited to assessments, current daily notes, and services provided for statistical and billing purposes
12. Enforce the Code of Ethics governed by the BACB and San Angelo Autism Center policy and procedures
13. Assist with problem solving to improve efficiency within the clinic
14. Portray a positive attitude and maintain a patient and co-worker satisfaction level that limits adverse situations or complaints
15. Excellent attitude and ability to work well within a team
16. Ability to organize and act on multiple activities concurrently, as required by client treatment plans
17. Generate team spirit through creating and maintaining an environment that fosters staff satisfaction, maximizes productivity and profitability
18. Attend special education programs and in-service trainings, related to ABA therapy for staff and the community upon request
19. Perform data collection procedures and create monthly reports and provide monthly supportive documentation in accordance with BACB.
20. Create or assist in the creation of Behavioral intervention Plans including Functional Analysis Assessments, Preferences and Reinforcement Assessments, etc and conduct revisions if needed
21. Prepare and assist in the preparation of instructional and clinical materials
22. Participate in ongoing communication with client’s team
23. Implement Behavior Intervention Plans and Individual Treatment Plans correctly and as directed by supervising BCBA
24. Respond and manage crisis situations as they relate to clients with potential for physical aggression
25. Communicate and report any incidents or concerns to immediate supervisor and any other department head, as directed
26. Refer clients and parents to appropriate staff members with regard to therapy or non-therapy related questions
27. Communicate company information and announcements to parents and families as directed by the organization
28. Complete all other job-related duties as directed
29. Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, Lead Behavioral Technician, and co-workers.
Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.

EDUCATION:
1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
2. ABA Course Sequence required by the BACB
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Certification as BCaBA
2. Maintenance of BCaBA certification, as well as certifications and any trainings provided (e.g., crisis training, CPR and First Aid, etc.)
3. Must possess signed Supervision Contract with San Angelo Autism Center
4. Valid Medicaid Provider Number
Skills/Abilities: Includes, but is not limited to:
1. Telephone
2. Computer: knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, or ability to learn them independently
3. Copy Machine
4. Calculator
5. Fax Machine
BASIC AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
2. Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment.
3. Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
4. Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
5. Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
6. Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
7. Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include center, home, and community placements.
8. Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
9. Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
RELATED TRAINING:
Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once employed including, but not limited to: CPR/First Aid, Fingerprinting & Background Checks, and other company in-services and trainings as directed by employment supervisor.
PREFERRED:
· Minimum of 1 year experience working with children with ASD or other developmental disabilities.
