San Angelo Autism Center offers center-based ABA therapy where we perform consultations with our clients, and then find the best way to provide care for your child.

There are numerous advantages that we provide for your child. We understand that children with Autism have special needs, unique talents and we create specialized treatment plans based off those attributes.

Our ABA Therapy team is led by highly regarded BCBAs and utilize our clinic settings to set up the best environment to increase learning and decrease undesired behaviors.

Our team of professionals provide evidence-based practices to improve the lives of individuals. Some of the skills the program teaches are:

· Adaptive living skills (dressing, feeding, grooming)

· Expressive Language (labeling emotions, activities, people)

· Social Skills (initiating conversations, play skills)

· Toilet Training

· Play and Leisure Skills (expanding interest, reciprocal play, responding to others)

Our process

Individual Assessment

The whole process starts with the initial consultation at San Angelo Autism Center. We schedule the initial meeting in our clinic, which is the perfect way of analyzing the condition of your child.

This initial consultation is important, and we discuss your parental concerns on a serious note. We take a look at the current performance of your child and also analyze the medical treatments that they have received in the past. Once they have performed the initial discussion, our analysts usually move towards more advanced tools to perform an extensive analysis.

Assessment Tools

Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS): This assessment takes a look at six important sets of living skills. It is a great method for understanding the soft skills of special children.
Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills – Revised (ABLLS-R): This exercise attempts to find the language proficiency levels of an individual. It is designed to especially address the learning needs of autistic children.
Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA): This test finds out the behavioral tendencies of children with special needs. It finds out more about communication disabilities.
Social Skills Assessment: This assessment is instrumental in finding social skill issues in autistic children. It is a key test that helps behavior analysts in creating a customized plan for your child.
Verbal Behavioral – Milestone Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP): It is a multipurpose tool as it allows the assessing of behaviors through well-established procedures and allows analysts to finalize curriculum for a special needs child.

Clinic Based One-on-One Instruction

Extensive initial assessment (see Individualized Assessments) to develop highly individualized treatment plan
Client skills are developed through direct instruction in a one-on-one teaching environment utilizing the science and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
Instructional decisions are determined by extensive data collection procedures during every therapy session
Services are provided by highly trained behavior therapists supervised by our clinical director (Board Certified Behavior Analyst)
