POSITION SUMMARY:
San Angelo Autism Center is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) to join our team. RBTs are responsible for assisting behavior analysts to implement behavior reduction and skill acquisition treatment plans. The RBT functions as an integral member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team, providing treatment to children. The candidate will assist patients with day to day activities, monitor their behavior, record and collect data on patients' progress, and communicate with clients. The behavior technician carries out treatment plans that:
· are family centered and improve function and enhance activities of daily life,
· focus on the individuals’ and the families’ stated needs,
· are individualized to address each client’s unique needs, overcoming acknowledged weaknesses by identifying and using their strengths,
· involve the client’s natural support system of family and friends to ensure generalization of skills learned in therapy sessions,
· require consistent practice and repetition between therapy sessions to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the treatment plan, and
· utilize positive behavior support techniques when presented with children exhibiting inappropriate behavior.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Contributes to providing quality care for clients of San Angelo Autism Center in whatever capacity is required in accordance with skills and training.
2. Maintains awareness of trends and best practices.
3. Knows, abides by and if appropriate enforces San Angelo Autism Center Policies and Procedures.
4. Promotes unified, team-oriented atmosphere in all communications and actions.
5. Is professional in appearance and demeanor.
6. Develops thorough knowledge of San Angelo Autism Center’s philosophy of intervention, implementation procedures , internal tools, and reporting mechanisms
7. Communicates effectively with all levels of staff in a manner that promotes a team spirit and a sense of cooperation.
8. Communicates in a manner that is respectful and courteous to all clients, staff, and families, vendors, etc.
9. Maintains clear and open communication with supervisor in all matters.
10. Maintains a close working relationship with supervisor.
11. Provides support services in other areas as requested by supervisor.
Direct Services
1. Works under the supervision of the BCBA, with each assigned child in the clinic on a regularly scheduled basis.
2. Remains in visual proximity of all assigned children.
3. Uses appropriate instructional materials, which would benefit the child’s attainment of social, communicative, behavioral and other goals as established by the BCBA.
4. Provides feedback to the BCBA and family on interactions with the child. However, does not offer treatment suggestions to the family.
5. Collects and graphs data on a daily basis and keeps accurate, up to date summary data as agreed upon by program in a timely manner.
6. Provide 1:1 ABA therapy in-home, center, and community based environments
7. Implement individualized treatment plans developed by BCBAs
8. Provide regular written and verbal progress updates on treatment goals.
9. Support the BCBA with training families on implementing individualized treatment plans.
10. Participate in team meetings and training workshops.
11. Ensure that the client is in a safe and positive environment at all times.
Compliance
1. Records client treatments, responses, and progress on designated forms.
2. Completes all treatment progress notes and all other required records and paperwork in a timely manner according to stated policy.
3. Develops and maintains all client progress reports and documentation, in compliance with San Angelo Autism Center’s policy and procedure and all other applicable standards, requirements, laws, rules, and regulations.
4. Ensures client and family confidentiality by complying with San Angelo Autism Center policy and procedure, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability And Accessibility Act) requirements, and any other privacy requirements as may be specified by referral sources, funders, or other licensing and regulatory entities.
5. Ensures the safety and security of clients, staff, volunteers and visitors by knowing and following all safety procedures as required by San Angelo Autism Center policy and procedure and any other referral sources, funders or other licensing and regulatory entities, and understands the consequences of non-compliance.
6. Arrives on time for all scheduled shifts.
Training
1. Attends and participates in general staff meetings/staff trainings.
2. Will attain and maintain certification as a Registered Behavior Technician as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
Customer Service
1. Provides exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.
2. Maintains an effective and professional working relationship with consumers and their families/care providers, co-workers and referral sources.
3. Works and communicates as a member of a treatment team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School degree or GED.
2. Individual enrolled in undergraduate program (prefer with emphasis in psychology or education)
3. Must pass criminal and background check including fingerprints.
4. Current valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance and a driving record that meets the standards of the agency.
5. Handle information in a confidential manner.
6. Exceptional organizational skills, communication skills (oral and written) and memory required.

Basic and Physical Requirements:
1. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
2. Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment.
3. Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
4. Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
5. Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
6. Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
7. Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include center, home, and community placements.
8. Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
9. Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
Job Requirements:
· Must be able to pass a criminal and background check, drug testing, and fingerprinting.
· Current driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance if travel in the area is required.

RELATED TRAINING:
Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once employed including, but not limited to: CPR/First Aid, Fingerprinting & Background Checks, behavior technician trainings and other company in-services and trainings as directed by employment supervisor.
